I purchased a Galaxy S7 edge today but I feel that the apps are taking too long to install. I used to have a Moto X 2014 and apps would install way faster, and the processor was an old one.

    Examples:
    Spotify ~ 22 MB. download time - 2 seconds - install time 12 seconds
Youtube music ~ 9 MB. download time - 1 second - install time 8-9 seconds
    Uber ~ 17 MB. download time - 2 second - install time 17 seconds!

I also previously installed facebook + whatsapp and they also took a lot of time: 20 - 30 seconds.

Is it me being paranoid about it or is it android 6.0 that increases install time on apps?

    Thank you.

Those times seem okay to me. Let's see what others say.

They sound about right. Apps keep getting larger, so the install time, even with a faster CPU, can take longer.

Sounds healthy to me... it will depend on the app server's, your signal strength and a host of other things. Chill out, it's all good. ;-)

Welcome to Android Central! Not unusual. If you have security apps installed, that might also be prolonging the installation time a little bit. Facebook always takes a loooong time to install, so that's not surprising at all.
