Why does my Moto X not charge? It stays at 0%

When I plug my phone in it will not charge I've tried wall plugs and plugging it into my laptop. Please help

Welcome. Try a different lead, and make sure that the USB port is clean and undamaged.

Are you using the original charger that came with the device?

Did you try another charger?

If the battery was completely depleted, it might take 24 hours to get it to charge.

If this is the original 2013 Moto X, it is also possible that the battery is completely dead at this point. You could take it to a repair shop, but it might not be worth repairing at this point, since it's almost 3 years old.
