Why is half my phone screen black and the other half unresponsive?

In the morning I turned my phone on after charging over night and half the screen was blank like black and the other half was on but unresponsive it wouldn't let me tap it so I left it off all day and tried again however it just got worse and the screen is slowly becoming blue I have had this phone for about 18 months and dropped it many times but I don't know if it's the screen or the phone does anyone know what I could do or what the problem is and how to fix it ?

It's probably the screen, although it could be the motherboard.

In either case, the way you fix it is to bring it to a repair shop - it's not a do it yourself job.
