Can I remove this sdcard shortcut?

I have a Moto E which is running CyanogenMod 13, 28th May nightly build. I updated it after the 3rd May build. But the updation has given rise to a problem. My Music files and gallery files are being displayed twice. After checking the properties of one of the gallery files, I found out that there is a sdcard shortcut residing in the root directory, which is pointing to the emulated/0. Now when I attempt to delete this shortcut using es explorer, it tells me that its going to delete all 13 GBs. So, if I delete this shortcut, will I lose all my files, or just the shortcut? Also, I am using sdcard as adopted storage.

Don't delete the symlink unless you look at it via adb and know exactly what you're seeing.

I would ask the person you downloaded it from for help.
