What phone should I get?

I've been out of the game for awhile. So please be kind to me

I'm having a hard time finding what I want, and hoping you guys can help!

I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S4. I rooted it as soon as I got it and blocked OTA's so its still on 4.2.2. But I want to get a smart watch, which needs at least 4.3, and I'm still grandfathered in with unlimited data with Verizon so I really don't want to lose that.

So I want to buy a phone out-right that will work on Verizon and keep my unlimited data (will I have to reuse the sim card from my gs4?), must be able to root the phone, must have a removable battery as I have gotten used to extended batteries, and needs to have around a 5 inch screen.

Is what I want even possible? Thanks for your help!

The key is removable battery, not a lot of manufacturers are offering this anymore. The LG G5 springs to mind, it's a decent size, can be rooted, modern, replaceable battery
