Galaxy S7 - Why can't I use Spotify or play podcasts with my car's USB?

I recently purchased a Galaxy S7 so far love it. I drive a 2014 Nissan Rogue Select and when I connect my phone to the car's USB port it only gives me options for MTP transfer for audio, images, MIDI, and to charge. I have tried all of these options and cannot use the USB to play audio from any media (Spotify, YouTube, Podcast Addict, etc.).

Anyone have any recommendations?

Hi, when you connect the phone to the car, the car is wanting to explore the phones internal storage. Does your car not come with Bluetooth and you could connect it that way?

I don't think either of those options work for what you intend. You need your phone to connect in streaming mode to your car. Usually this is done via Bluetooth, or try using an aux cable.

And the phone has to look like an mp3 player. USB connections aren't designed for Android. (If you have mp3 files on your SD card,it may work - depending on the car. But USB will not play a stream.)
