Is it possible to 'roll back' from Marshmallow to Lollipop?

I do hope so, as Marshmallow has killed several apps, some of which are extremely important to me, such as call recording. This worked perfectly before the update.

Battery life seems to have halved also!!!

What device? It might be possible on Samsung but then you'd need to take action to prevent the OTA from pushing again. I suggest a cache partition wipe to try to resolve the battery issue.

A 2 second Google search revealed a couple call recording apps, one of which has Marshmallow compatibility as a main "selling" point.

What call recording app are you using? Have you reached out to the developer to ask about compatibility with the new OS? How about the other apps?
