Tethering - mobile hotspot doesn't appear on laptop

I am using my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 as a mobile hotspot full stop the issue I'm experiencing is that when I'm trying to connect to it on my laptop the Wi-Fi name does not appear in the list of Wi-Fi connections. I am able to tether via USB cable but not via Wi-Fi the Wi-Fi of the mobile phone it's ok I am surfing on other WiFi networks without a problem. The Wi-Fi of the laptop is also ok . I'm connected to the mobile network I'm surfing without a problem could you please advise?
