decisions decisions????. I said in a earlier post that I was intending upgrading from a Lumia 930 to a nexus 6p. now having seen Huawei's new flagship the p9 I am really confused which one to choose. I've read reviews on both and still cant decide. as I am new to android os, comments from anyone would be appreciated, thanks

Welcome to Android Central! Personally, I always lean towards Nexus devices, because I prefer a device with minimal bloatware and UI modifications. I'd rather add those modifications myself using apps from the Play Store (like alternate launchers). Nexus devices also have the major advantage of getting system updates promptly from Google, as well as reliably getting monthly security patches every month.

the specs and especially the camera of the p9 seem to be better than the 6p and I do like a good camera. the 6p is a good 8 or 9 months old now though

I'm a very happy Nexus 6p owner. I got mine a few weeks ago. Great device.

    Here's the comparison: Huawei P9 vs. Huawei Nexus 6P - GSMArena.com

It's not a slam-dunk in terms of which phone is better specs-wise. The P9's screen has lower resolution. Its camera has smaller pixels, which means its low-light quality won't be as good as the 6P.

You can't make a good or bad decision until you first make a decision. I have the Nexus 6 and except for the camera, it's as good as anything now available. Go for the 6P. The Nexus is always a good choice.

I'll admit that I haven't read many details about the P9 yet. I wonder if the dual cameras make up for the smaller pixel size in terms of low light shots. Here's how the Huawei P9's dual-camera system works | The Verge

I hate to point out the obvious but if you buy one and don't like it, with a bit of badge engineering and inverting characters, you can change a 6p into a p9 or vice versa.

    Problem solved. Case closed.
    You're welcome!

Huawei never really support their phones for long, I'd go with nexus over and skinned phone
