How can I access my locked-down phone?

A

AC Question

I have an old HTC wildfire, which I used for many years. It eventually got quite knackered so I upgraded, but there are unread texts and a voicemail I need to access. Here are the issues:

The power button is broken; it was for a while before the phone finally croaked. I installed an app to 'wake' the screen using the volume keys, and to turn it on from the off state I used the charge/remove battery technique;

I've forgotten my pattern, meaning it asked me for my google login - this wouldn't be a problem, however;

Google has 'forgotten' this device, and my device has forgotten google. There's no record of my device on android device manager;

It won't connect to a computer. The device won't connect to my laptop, meaning I can't use a device manager as a backdoor entry point.

There are the problems. What I want to know is: can I access my texts, messages and other phone data? What will it take? Quite the challenge, but I'm sure someone (a true star) has the solution!

Thank you for your help.
