android device manager won't accept my google password (s7 edge)

I'm very sure that I use the correct password, because if I use that I can log in to my google account.
So my guess is that there must be a different password for device manager.

So far as I know, it's always your Google username and password. Try uninstalling and reinstalling.

I did re-install the android app but no joy

Sign into your Google account from a different source to make sure the Google credentials you're using works else where to access Google services.

I logged in on my Google-account from my wife's laptop and experienced no login problem whatsoever.

Has nobody a clue what might be the problem? I'm quite desperate because I need a solution and it seems not possible to ask Google for help.
