Transfer photos from PC to Google Nexus with marshmallow

I have a windows 7 PC and nexus 7 tablet with marshmallow.
Once connected and I've changed the usb connection to "transfer Photos", I open "windows explorer" and drag and drop phots into the "picture" folder on the tablet.
Where are the photos?? I can't find them on the tablet.

Hi, when you connect the tablet - do you have the option to move the images to a DCIM folder, try that and they should appear in your phones gallery.

Have you also considered downloading a file manager from the play store so you can check all the folders on the tablet to see if the images are there?

In the Photos app, open the menu and select device folders. The Photos app should be monitoring for folders that have images in them and allow them to show up here.
