How do I deactivate Google Play service before updating

It says You must deactivate Google Play services before updating... I put the deactivation button nothing happens... I push OK nothing happened I think I need to push myself off a cliff haha.

Welcome to the forums. Strange. What device and android version do you have? Where and when are you getting this message? Did you disable the Play Services? Just in case, go to settings - apps and see if Play Services is disabled there.

Having the same ussue, after my S6a updated to Android 6.0.

The message reads Google services must be deactivated before being updated.

How do I deactivate? The button labled "Deactivate" does nothing.

I don't understand why or how.... but... I went back to the device... the app had been updated and no longer had the message to deactivate.

Hello PapiGG, welcome to the forums. That error message sometime means that Google Play Services is being updated in the background and is unavailable temporarily. Nothing to worry about.
