How do I disable hearing aid on my samsung galaxy s5 neo?

A

AC Question

Hello all!

I'm having some issues with the s5 neo I just got after I lost my old phone :(

My callers have told me that the hear their own voice echoing when talking to me and this all started after I was messing around with my phone and I enabled hearing aids, I figured it would just raise the volume or something, and now for the life of me I cannot find how I did this. I've read about 15 forums all talking about hearing aid/volume/echoing issues but none are for the s5 neo and I don't have some of the options people have mentioned.

I started to think I was crazy as the specs for the neo say no it's not hearing aid compatible. My proof is that when I make a call there is an 'extra volume' button that is shown on screen and when I try to tap it it says 'cant use this while hearing aids is enabled' so HA I'm not crazy, but I still don't know where to find it!

I'd appreciate any help or guidance in my time of neeeeed!

Thank you!

Hi,
I had the same problem. What you do is go into Settings and click on Accessibility. Then you click on Hearing and you'll see Hearing Aids. Just turn that off and your problem should be fixed.
