Missing stock widgets on my LG Transpyre?

[AC Question]

I bought an LG Transpyre to use on Verizon's pre-paid network today.
Everything seems to be in order, except that all the stock Widgets are missing.
I'm not new to Android phones, but I've never had one that came with no pre-installed widgets.
Any idea on how I can get them on my phone?

Welcome to Android Central! Are there any widgets at all? If you long-press an empty part of the homescreen, do you see an option to add widgets?
