Mobile Network Connection Problem

[AC Question]

I have a Umi Zero on EE in the UK. I can connect on EDGE, but as soon as the connection changes to a faster mode I lose registration the network even though the phone still sees signal from the carrier. This happens in all locations with signal strength having no effect. I am checking signal type, strength and tower location with Cell Info Lite. The carrier is unable to help.

If I change the phone from WCDMA preferred to GSM Only I can hold the connection, but obviously it stays on EDGE.

I am running the official Umi ROM V3.10, but the problem also occured on the V3.06 ROM.

I would try the sim in another phone to see if you still have the same problem

The SIM works in another phone, and a SIM which was in that other phone fails in the same way in mine!
