Will clearing my cache wipe out my contacts or music?

I have a Motorola RazrM that is running slow. I have heard of two ways to clear system cache ... I am afraid to try because I have contacts and music that I don't want to lose.
Should I be concerned?

Cache files are not unnecessary at all, they exist for a very good reason. They store temporary data that will make your phone run smoother and faster, using less resources like battery, CPU cycles and internet connection. Clearing cache files is harmless but don't do it without a reason, your phone, and you, will appreciate it
