How can I get the full color of what I am taking a picture of?

I was taking a picture of the strawberry moon last night/ evening and the moon came out white while the reflection on the water was yellow?

The brightness of the Moon may be far beyond the dynamic range of the sensor, if you also want some detail to show in terrestrial objects.
