Problems with instagram on android LG curve

[AC Question]

When going through my feed on instagram--sometimes 100 entries from people I follow--when I come across a video that has been posted, it freezes up the entire phone (to the point where the spinning star next to LTE stops completely) then instagram completely shuts down and I have the opportunity to report the problem (which I have done 40 times already). Sometimes if I tap the camera button on the video then hit the back button, the video plays. But most times I have to go to the profile, unfollow the user who posted the video, go back to my feed all the way to where I left off, then search again for that user and follow them. This has been going on since March 28th, 2016, update and has not improved since. There has been 5 updates since then. I went to Sprint and they tried to sell me a new phone. I have 360 security. I need help as I am ready to disable instagram. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app many times to no avail.
