Why does Droid turbo 2 sound fade after a couple seconds?

I play a ringtone or song, and it come through nice and loud for 4-5 seconds, then it goes down to half the volume, but the volume indicator says it is still at full. My alarm no longer wakes me up because it is too low.

Hi, it could be part of the settings on the alarm, have you considered downloading a 3rd party alarm from the play store, I like Timely.
