Droid Turbo 2; Getting hot and fast battery drain. OK while in standby.

AC Question

I have a Droid Turbo 2 with Android 6.0. and here are the symptoms:
- Running hot to the touch most of the time
- Fast draining battery considering the amount of usage compared to my typical usage
It started a couple of days ago when I was in a different area. I charged my phone at the airport and that's when I noticed it was draining fast and running hot. I have used standby mode two times today and that seems to fix the issue (i.e. the battery lasts longer and it doesn't run hot). Things I have done are:
- Cleared the cache partition
- Edited wifi to not stay on during sleep
- Updated my network to LTE from global
I feel like it may be a network issue where its continually searching for a network even tho I have a good connection OR it could be a problem with Google Services because its the top battery consumer? Thoughts?

Same here. Google services is doing it. When looking into it further, it seems my Gmail accounts get stuck in an endless sync loop and it burns through the battery.

I have had 3 different droid turbo 2's do this. It must be a marshmallow bug.

My only work around is using gsam to alert me when the battery is becoming hot, then use an auto sync toggle widget to kill the syncs. Turn it back on 15 min later and it's "fixed"
