Backup a protected/purchased app on Note 3/Android 5 that is no longer available on Google Play?

A

AC Question

I have an app called GymRat that I purchased on Google Play a couple years ago. The app is no longer available, and I have years of data that I've collected/input. If I switch to a new phone, I'm concerned about losing the ability to use the app and its data. I can export data into .CSV format, but I can't find a similar app that can input .CSV data. I would love to backup the app to use on a new phone in the future, but every backup program I've tried has given me an error, saying it's protected.

Is there a way that I can backup the app and be able to use it on a new phone in the future? I have a Galaxy Note 3 with Android 5.0. Or, does anyone know of a gym log program that can import .CSV files so I can at least keep my data and put it into a new program?
