What's this little dude on my screen?

This weird guy showed up on my screen out of nowhere. I can move it around but I can't get rid of it.
If i tap on it, it brings out a grey rectangle that moves from the top of the screen to the bottom and then bottom to top, repeatedly. If I tap on that rectangle, it brings out a grey circle with a plus sign in the centre that slowly goes through the length of the rectangle, left to right repeatedly.

Any idea of what it might be, and how to get rid of it?

The phone is a BQ Aquaris E5 HD with Android 5.1.1.

Welcome to the forums. What phone do you have and what android version is it running? If you have Marshmallow there's an easy way to narrow the search if you look for the apps with 'draw over apps' permission'. Another way could be opening the 'running apps' option in your settings and see if there's something strange in that list
