HTC One m9 camera app problem??

I have a rooted m9 with 5.1 lollipop. This morning I started having problems with the default camera app. It's laggy and really slow. When I try to do anything it happens in a 5 second delay- for example I press the button to take a picture and nothing happens for 5 seconds. Even when I try to close the app it doesn't happen right away. Everything else on my phone is working fine and this has never happened before. I tried everything I could think of - I cleared the app's data, I cleared it's cache. I disabled it and then enabled or again. I uninstalled its updates. I restarted my phone multiple times, nothing works. What can I do, I don't want to factory reset it??

I expirienced the same few days ago, although I didn't root.
Only camera is laggy, other apps fast as hell.

I have the exact same issues, but I did not root mine . Camera app just suddenly started to be very large and slow.

Very weird
