Why is my Samsung Galaxy s6 Edge battery life draining so quickly and not charging?

When I first got the phone last Thanksgiving it had a great battery life but recently its just been draining very quickly. Even at full charge and just wifi and mobile data on and power saving mode it wouldn't last a day. Now it just won't charge. I left it in all night and it charged from 13% to 40% and quickly draining.
