I bought a new 16gb SD card to put music on my Turbo 2 but any song downloaded or imported from a CD within the last 14 months won't transfer over to the card.

I made a playlist on iTunes to put on the card and had no problem with songs added as recently as 5/5/2015. But the songs added since 5/7/2015 can't be added.

I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with the files being protected because the older songs are a mix of downloads and songs from CDs I own, the same for the songs that won't transfer.

    Any help is appreciated, thanks.

"CDs I own" doesn't guarantee that you can copy the songs. You own the little plastic disk, you don't own the right to make copies of the music. Some artists/companies take that seriously, and do something that prevents you from making copies. (Or an update to Android could finally have recognized copy protection that's been there all along.)

Put the CD in a computer. Copy a song to the hard drive. If it copies (the song, not a shortcut), Plug in the phone and copy from the computer to the phone. It still may or may not work, but it may give some of us some idea what the copy protection is.
