I had to return my HTC M9 to factory settings. I tried updating again to Android 6 through settings - about - software updates, but a window appears with the message "no updates available for your phone"
Is there any way to update Android?
It's quite urgent since half the apps (like shazam) won't work without it.

Have you tried checking for an update through HTC Sync Manager? It should detect that an upgrade is available for your phone as soon as you connect it.

A factory reset won't remove an installed OS update, it only removes your data and restores the phone to a state as if it had shipped with the updated OS.

When you went to do the update, did you look at the version of the OS on the device to see that the update isn't actually needed?
