Galaxy S4 Problem With Firmware Upgrade

A

AC Question

The phone is a Samsung Galaxy S4, model M919, TMobile. It is not rooted. It displays the following, " "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode inKies & try again." Kies doesn't recognize the phone and I don't have a recovery code. Is this fixable?

This all started when I replaced the display. I booted the phone and went to upgrade the firmare (it's been sitting in a drawer with a bad display for quite awhile). I was in a hurry and didn't realize that the touch function wasn't working on the new display, I think there was a popup during the upgrade and I couldn't respond due to the faulty display. The firmware upgrade crashed and here I am.

My kids are really hard on phones so I keep a drawer full of old ones and repair them as needed. The drawer is getting "thin" so I'm down to this one and don't know what to do to fix it.
