My Verizon Message + app isn't notifying me properly.

Sometimes notifications come in correctly and clearly. Other times get a partial notification sound...like a short bleep. Other times the text comes in with no sound at all. I have a Motorola Turbo 2 which I've had less than a month and it's been doing this after the second to last update.
