Why are my menu and home keys not working?

Hi I have a Galaxy S5 and after restarting my phone my menu and home key's no longer work. The back key still functions as normal. I know the issue is software based as the menu key still lights up when tapped. Also if the device is in one hand mode (where the home and menu keys are on the display instead of the bottom of the screen) these keys still dont work. I have not updated my device lately and it is on the latest firmware for my country (5.0). I have tried clearing cache partition and taking out the battery but nothing has worked. Keep in mind this issue only occured due to a normal restart and was fine beforehand. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
