Google nexus 5x on at&t

I am getting my own phone plan and have absolutely no history with at&t. If I buy a nexus 5x will the sell me a nano sim and will I be able to use their service. And how much is there service charge and will I be allowed to pick my own size of data

What do you project your data needs are? How is the coverage for Sprint and T-Mobile in your area? Google's Project Fi is a more affordable option if you don't expect to use a ton of data (less than 3 GB or so).

Yes, AT&T will sell you service without buying a phone from them but by buying a Nexus 5X you have the ability to go with any of the big 4 or the MVNOs (Cricket, Ting, Fi, etc) that ride on their services and charge less than the big 4.
