how do you take out a broken s pen from a note 5

So I dropped my phone and instead of the pen popping out, the part with the side button broke and the top part is stuck up the hole

I've heard about someone taking a straw and slitting it long ways to make it smaller diameter so it will fit in the hole around the pen. If you put it in the hole around the pen and slide it in, it is supposed to release the clip that holds the pen inside.
