Google's Messenger app not showing option to enable Delivery Report?

So in the built-in Messenger app (the Google one), if I go to settings --> Advanced, I don't see a section for Delivery Reports as there should be. So I can't enable SMS or MMS delivery confirmation. Motorola support suggested I factory reset my phone. Just wondering if anyone else has this issue before I consider doing the reset.

Sorry I was the one that created this thread. I thought it would appear in the forum I was browsing (Moto G4 Plus forum) so this is pertaining to that particular phone.

Not just your specific phone. The option for delivery reports has disappeared from the Messenger app on my Z3 Compact running Android 6.0.1.
