Turning off shake to close apps?

I have the BLU Studio Energy 2 and if you shake it, apps will close which isn't good while I'm running or biking. I contacted BLU and they said you can't disable it. If I were to root my phone could I? Or is their other ways?

Hi, I would imagine rooting the device would be the best method. So the phone has a feature that when it's shaken, it'll close the app?
