Is there a way to disable the headphone jack?

I like to use a stylus instead of my finger and have a stylus that plugs into the headphone jack, but then I don't hear any ringtones or notifications. Is there a way to disable that function so it doesn't know something is plugged in? I have a Nokia Lumia 520, if that helps.

I believe I've seen these, nahoku. They are simply small styluses that are stored in the jack, unless I've misunderstood the OP. But they shouldn't be throwing any switches or closing any contacts while there.

Never seen these before... then again never looked for them given I have a Note 4. Thanks!
