why do some of my apps show a 1970 install date?

When I view my apps in settings, some of them reflect a date in 1970

Also, the Unix Epoch started in 1970, I believe.

Don't worry. It presumably looks like this, but with some dates showing 1970?
I'm not sure of the cause, nor whether you need worry, nor the fix. Hopefully others will.

I've passed this on to more knowledgeable members but no-one seems to understand it. I'm thinking that the date may correct itself following updating, but it's no more than a guess.

It seems that the wrong date only shows up with Google apps and not with third party apps that you downloaded. Those Google apps most likely came preinstalled your phone. Is it the same with the rest of your apps? Check what happens with your stock apps. Has your phone been rooted? Which device is it?
