Google voice search launching randomly when aux cable plugged in

Whenever I plug in an aux cable (without controls/mic)google voice search launches randomly every now and then and sometimes when I turn the cable in the jack(I've tried with multiple cables that all work fine on other devices) it takes to either a screen that says 'Listening' or 'Tap mic to start speaking' its really annoying cause it pauses my music. I tried disabling google voice but the problem still persists. This doesnt happen if I use an aux cable with 3 rings(1 for mic/controls).Any help is appreciated.
