Why does my sd card stop working when i plug in the charge cable?

I have a samsung galaxy prime. I am using a 64Gb scandisk class 10 sd card. Everytime i go to charge my phone it stops working. It shows up in settings that it is there. I cannot access any of it. It says that it is empty even though in settings that i have 42Gb free. I can unmount the sd card and unplug and plug the sd card in and it will work as long as it is not charging. I have the original cable and wall charger that i am using.

Such a strange issue - did you manage to find a resolution? have you tried using a different SD card to see if the issue still happens?
