Receiving emails from Apple in k9 mail on Android has format issues

I've noticed a problem receiving emails that stacked the text in very narrow columns of one or two words, making it almost impossible to read. After cursing the k9 app for the longest time I finally realized that all of the afflicted emails were sent from Apple products. Does anyone know of a solution short of purging my contact list of apple users?

try clearing the K9 mail app cache and see if that helps.

I've been unable to figure out how to clear cache for K9 mail. Don't see it in options of settings within the app. Have looked at android settings/app/k9 and had no luck.

I have determined that the original email sent from an apple device has some sort of linear graphics on the side of the page and instead of producing these graphics the android shows a blank spot on the page with K9. But for some reason the text field to the right side of the graphics area iis no longer properly formated, and the text is stacked in a very narrow column of one or two words.
