Battery draining fast after firmware update

A

AC Question

This morning when I unplugged the charger, my S6 battery fell to 93% immediately (from 100%). The battery kept draining about 1% every minute. No apps were running. I did a reboot. The battery still kept draining.
Does anyone know how to fix this? The last thing I did, was an overnight firmware update. I'm not sure the battery worked normally before that as I've mostly been playing Pokémon GO which drains the battery within 3 hours, but I think the battery life was still normal with the app closed. Thanks.

PS I'm not doing the "turn off Wi-fi, GPS, and everything else you need to use the phone for anything other than calls and texts" nonsense which I have found lots of on google. I need the battery restored to previous performance under the same conditions.

Wipe app cache via setting>system>storage.

Wipe system cache via recovery mode.

Neither wipes any personal data. Wiping these two are always recommended after any update.

If you have taken a major OS update, you may need to do a factory data reset via recovery mode. This will wipe all user data.
