    The English used by the writer in that linked guide is bad, which will make it more difficult for a non-native English-speaker to understand, as well as annoying some native English speakers, including me.

    In brief, as Pugs1957 has said, you can Factory Reset your phone in three ways, the last of which does indeed mean connecting to a PC. So, the choice is:

    1) Settings, Backup & Reset.
    2) Use the hard buttons to get into Recovery Mode, and select Factory Reset.
    3) Connect the phone to a PC as described in the linked guide above.

    The first two are the ones mostly used.
