A couple of months ago AT&T pushed a software update to my Galaxy S6 phone. At first I thought that I was turning off my wifi and forgetting about it but then I started paying attention more and I noticed that ever since that update my wifi periodically turns off and I am using my data plan without realizing it until I check something and see that wifi is off so I re-enable it. Coincidentally I went over my data plan for the first time ever. Legally I know that AT&T couldn't do something like that but I think something was wrong with the update. Has anyone else had the same issue? Any advice?

If you haven't done so already in your WiFi setting make sure that "Smart network switch" is turned off.

It will burn more battery but in the advanced WiFi settings, there is an option to "Keep WiFi on during sleep" set it to always if not already.

Welcome to Android Central! Also, check if any power saving modes are turned on.
