Trade Unactivated iPhone 6S for Samsung S7/Edge

[AC Question]

Not sure if this is the proper place to ask this but anyways, I bought my first iPhone last year and I miss android, a lot. My original iPhone has been sent back to Apple due to defects and now I have an iPhone 6S that is unactivated/unregistered, how ever active as my daily phone. I'm currently under an AT&T Next 24 plan which I have recently figured out was a huge mistake and I want to get a different phone. Can I do this?

TL;DR: Under an AT&T Next plan, got a replacement AT&T iPhone that is not registered but am currently using it. But I'm not liking iOS at all and want to get an S7 or 6P.

You must pay off your Next account with two options. Pay off full amount still owed on the device and it's yours to keep and sell. Second option is to pay off the trade in balance, order your new phone, but you have to send the phone back to the carrier.

Either way, until your Next installment loan is paid off, that phone will be locked to your account, and your account locked to that device.
