    What kind of files?
Which file management app are you moving them with?
What error message are you getting?

    DITTO.
in the past, I used ES File Manager [now botched and renamed] for all sorts of file tasks with no special permissions, no drama: between cloud, devices on the lan, local internal storage, and SC card storage. no sweat.
now with Android 6.0.1 and the revamped ES File Explorer, it is all down the toilet. I'm no top Dev, but I am pretty good with hacking and rooting and flashing and debloating, etc, and this is a mess.
Removed ES File Manager and installed its rival: Asus's "File Manager". SAME ISSUE. Their instructions on how to "gain permissions" for the SD Card are simply wrong for Android 6.0.1. There is no way I can see to get permission to write anything via one of these add-on apps. There is no way to even copy/move from the SD Card to anywhere that I can see, except to hook up to PC, where the device goes into "storage device" or "media device" mode.

if anyone has a real clue about this, please post here or create a new thread. .
