I purchased a Samsung Galaxy S7 (AT&T carrier) at Target on July 16th, 2016. This morning, after I finished untangling a small, loose knot from my stock headphones, the cord snapped in half. There is no other visible damage, and I'm really not sure why this happened. I very rarely leave them out, and I usually keep them in the nice little box they came with-- in fact I was about to put them in the little black box they came in with the phone for the night when they broke. I'm wondering, since the phone is under warranty, should I contact Target, AT&T or Samsung to replace the headphones?

The warranty is often shorter for included accessories. You'll need to go through RMA process with Samsung for the earbuds or you can get something better for ~ $25.
