MY LG ENACT doesn’t ring most of time for texts

My two y/o LG Enact doesn’t ring in with most texts Help! I have Verizon

Look around in your settings for your native message app, perhaps there is one for, not sounding, when you have phone on and viewing it? Also, if you're connected to a bluetooth device, its possible that it won't ding on your phone. When I have mine connected in my truck, it won't ding the phone.
