I have an Old work email account and I like keeping the emails on my phone (stock email app). This issue I’m running into: every time I open the Stock Email App to view my New email account I get a “Sign-in Failed” notice for the Old email account. Is there a way to turn off the sync/sign-in without affecting the new account?
The old account no longer active. I just want to keep the emails for reference.

Honestly I'm kinda lost about how it get's a sign-in failed error for the other account. This should not be a hindrance for the other account since it has it's own log-in credential. But try to do this:

Try going to your phone's settings then look for Accounts or Manage Accounts. You should see your saved accounts there which includes your email accounts, FB and any other accounts you have saved. Tap on the account that you would want to change the settings for. Look for any option about sync or sync frequency and set it to the frequency you want(including "do not Sync").

Please let me know whatever the outcome is.
