Trying to install an app on Samsung s6. Google Play will not accept my password.

I just bought a samsung s6 and am trying to install an app. I know my google password works because I just signed in to google on my ipad. However, when enter my password it just returns with "try again." I have also gone directly to google play's website and looked for the app. Under the app, it says that my device isn't recognized or something. (I have signed in to google account and I know that my phone does show up under the devices list).
