Wife has a Huawei Honor 5X. She loves the phone and uses WeChat on it quite a bit.
Recently we took the software update that installed Android 6.0.1 and EMUI 4.0.
Update went smoothly and there is only one problem so far. In WeChat, in Moments, pictures posted by her friends no longer are displayed. All we see are grayed-out place holders.
Pictures that she posts in Moments are displayed normally. Also, pictures that are sent to her in regular chat threads are displayed normally. It's only pictures posted by others to Moments that are affected.
I have gone through all of the settings in both WeChat and Android/Honor 5X. I was able to compare it setting for setting with my own phone to make sure there are no discrepancies.
emails to WeChat have been fruitless so far. Their tech support is lacking.
Any ideas or suggestions?
