How do I restore a lost Facebook icon that no longer appears on the apps list or desktop?

I have been through settings menu and can't find a way to restore the icon. I still get FB notifications, but that is the only way i can open the app. It does not appear in the icons when you press the apps icon. It still appears is the apps list where i can access settings. Using Samsung Galaxy S5.

To add the Facebook icon shortcut back
on your home screen (i.e. desktop), find and select your app drawer icon (it's a square consisting of several smaller squares). Then once you locate your Facebook app, press, and hold, then drag it to your home screen.
